GITE MEDIEVAL SAINT-JACQUES
The gite is located in the heart of the medieval quarter, on Rue de la Vau Saint-Jacques, halfway between the Saint-Jacques Tower and the Clock Tower. The ground floor houses a garage that can accommodate bicycles and strollers, but not cars. The cottage comprises an open space on the first floor, divided into a living room, a kitchen, and a dining area. The latter features a medieval fireplace with a modern pellet stove. This floor opens onto a courtyard with garden furniture and a door leading to a passageway overlooking the street. The second floor comprises the master bedroom with a double bed (140 cm x 190 cm) overlooking the medieval street, a second bedroom with two single beds (90 cm x 190 cm), a toilet, and a shower. There is an open space that serves as a relaxation room or office. The second bedroom has an exterior door and a staircase leading down to the courtyard. The interior of the gite is a non-smoking area.
The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob, refrigerator, toaster, and microwave. An electric kettle and filter coffee maker are also available. There is fibre optic internet access and Wi-Fi are available throughout the gite.
As you walk down the street, you'll find a bar-grocery store 50 meters away, and other bars and restaurants 200 meters away, near the Saint-Jacques Tower and the Thouet River. Walking up the street, the town center is approximately 300 meters away and offers bakeries, bars, and restaurants. Parthenay, in the heart of the Deux-Sèvres department, offers easy access to Poitiers for trains and planes (60 minutes), Niort and the Marais Poitevin (40 minutes), Saumur (60 minutes), and La Rochelle (75 minutes).
